I have always been interested in history, especially its dark sides, so when I found myself in Chicago, I couldn’t pass by the Museum of Medieval Torture https://medievaltorturemuseum.com/chicago/ . It contains instruments of execution and punishment that were used in different eras, and frankly, looking at them in real life is creepy. Detailed descriptions, atmospheric lighting and even reconstructions create the effect of complete immersion. I was especially surprised by how inventive the torture methods were. After visiting, mixed feelings remain, but this place is definitely memorable for a long time.
